Still more to celebrate in Kamloops this month!

Thank you! –  The Davis Wealth Management Team worked with Kamloops Daybreak Rotary to help raise $21,500 for our local YMCA. Funds raised through Daybreak Rotary’s Crabfest Dinner.
These funds will primarily be used to help both youth and family programs in Kamloops!

Huge Congratulations Brenda! – The Centre for Seniors Information (CSI Kamloops) is proud to announce the retirement of Brenda Prevost, founder and dedicated advocate for seniors in our community. Brenda has been an integral part of CSI Kamloops since its inception. Her vision, compassion, and commitment to supporting seniors have shaped the organization into the trusted community resource it is today.. Her retirement marks the end of an era at CSI
Kamloops, but her legacy will live on in the programs, partnerships, and strong
foundation she helped build.

Dr. Kim retires and highlights brain health experts! – TRU Professor Emerita Dr. Kim Calder Stegemann (also known as the “Brain Lady”) retires after a renowned career helping people with their brain health. As she retires, she graciously showcases other local brain health experts in many different fields and disciplines. In a series of online videos she showcases Dr. Brock at Crux Chiropractic, Dr. Tamsyn at Summit Eyecare, Registered Clinical Counsellor Mijane Parker at Stable Roots Counselling and Neuropathy, Stephanie Schaub (Osteopathy) at Wild Roots Clinic, Registered Clinical Counsellor Tennille Phipps at Living Bridges Therapy Collective, and Dr. Florriann Fehr, co founder of the TRU Brain Health Coalition. Thank you so much Dr Kim for your incredible work and these pointers to others who now walk in your big footsteps.

Way to go and Good Luck Ellie!!Ellie de Haan won her age category (16 and under 18) at the recent BC Highland Dance Championships held in Coquitlam. She will represent BC at the Canadian championships to be held in Moncton, NB in July!

In support of Canadian Nurses! – Speaking of Coquitlam, the Chronicle’s printer Web Express is there, and we consider them part of the extended Kamloops family. Carl Turnbull, our Sales Rep, is joining his brother Andrew and Nephew Judah on a portion of a cross Canada bike ride to raise funds and awareness to support mental health for nurses. The ride honours Andrew and Carl’s mother, Debby, a registered nurse whose life changed dramatically after a workplace injury ended her nursing career and led to decades of mental health challenges. Donations can be made to the Canadian Nurses Foundation.

RED BRIDGE RAVEN Mural painted behind Vic Coffee shop downtown – “The RED BRIDGE RAVEN mural is very meaningful to me as a lifelong Kamloops resident,” says Kamloops artist Vaughn Warren. Warren painted the mural with renowned mural artist Archer, who is on a BC wide mural painting tour. “It was an opportunity to create something that helps me grieve for the Red Bridge, while also looking forward and recognizing that positive change is coming to Kamloops.”
Warren also shared his appreciation for Kelson Group’s role in making the project possible. “We’re so appreciative of Kelson Group for the opportunity,” said Warren. “Organizations that have the funding to support the arts are so crucial.”
