The B.C. RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a 25-year-old Kamloops man whose body was found inside a burning vehicle last summer.

Police responded to a vehicle fire on Tranquille-Criss Creek Road at about 4 a.m. on Aug. 23, 2025. Inside the black 2019 Volkswagen Golf, investigators found the body of Kamloops resident Dillen Bain.

Police believe the vehicle was intentionally set on fire after being left along a service road.

Before the fire, the Golf was seen travelling through the North Shore area of Kamloops accompanied by a blue vehicle. Investigators are hoping to speak with anyone who may have seen Bain in the hours leading up to his death, or who may have information that could help establish what happened.
