RCMP seek suspects in downtown graffiti investigation

Kamloops RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying two people believed to be involved in a graffiti incident that damaged a mural in the downtown core.

Police said officers received a report on June 14 that graffiti had been spray painted on a mural on the exterior of a building in the 200-block of Fourth Avenue. Investigators believe the vandalism occurred during the overnight hours of June 12.

According to RCMP, surveillance footage has identified two suspects believed to be connected to the incident. The damage to the mural is estimated at between $1,500 and $2,000.

The first suspect is described as wearing dark clothing, including a dark hooded jacket and dark footwear, and carrying what appeared to be a spray paint can.

The second suspect is described as wearing a dark hooded sweater, dark shorts, dark socks and dark shoes, and carrying a white tote bag with a large graphic on the side.
